Itinerary

1st stopMamula island

Mamula, also known colloquially as Lastavica, is an uninhabited islet in the Adriatic Sea, within the southwestern Montenegrin municipality of Herceg Novi. Mamula is located between Prevlaka and Luštica peninsulas at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor. This small islet is of circular shape, and has 200m in diameter. It is 3.4 nautical miles (6.3 km) away from Herceg Novi.

During the period of the Venetian Republic rule, the island was known as Rondina.

The island has a fort, built in 1853 by Austro-Hungarian general Lazarus von Mamula. The fort takes up about 90% of the island’s surface area. Along with the fortification on Prevlaka’s Cape Oštro as well as Arza fortification on Luštica’s Cape Arza, both of which were erected at the same time also on suggestion by general Lazarus von Mamula, fort Mamula was part of the Austro-Hungarian Army’s contingency plans of preventing the enemy entrance into the Bay of Kotor.

2nd stopBlue cave

The Blue Cave is one of the most attractive in series of caves located on the peninsula Lustica. It is 5.7 nm far from Herceg Novi. It was named the Blue Cave because of its unusual blue color which is the result of the reflection of sun rays on clear sunny days. People are classifying it as a natural jewel of the Mediterranean due to its natural origin. It is one of the largest in a series of caves in this peninsula, created at the foot of the 30 meters high cliffs, and is a result of thousands of years of sea waves crashing on porous rocks of Lustica. The larger opening enables entrance for barges and smaller ships into the cave, allowing tourists to witness the wonderful play of light in the waters of the Blue Cave.

3rd stopLustica bay

Luštica Bay is nestled in the sweeping Luštica Peninsula poised between the entrance to the stunning Bay of Kotor and the Adriatic Sea. It is a gateway to the treasures that Montenegro has to offer.Well integrated into the surrounding environment through the use of local materials such as stonework, Luštica Bay is the passionate yacht owner’s natural choice. It’s a magical combination that only few places can claim… and the lifestyle, once experienced, is irresistible.
